Who?

Sasha Bilton has spent three decades building digital products, first as a developer then as a technology leader. His transition from senior individual contributor to leadership was a challenge, and he achieved it with little support. Now alongside his fractional leadership work, he brings opinionated, experience, and data-led training to team leads and engineering managers going through the same journey to power them up quickly and effectively.

Why?

Engineering managers are the heart of a development team. They are there to multiply each member’s efforts, are key to retention and enable heads of engineering to focus on strategy rather than low-level operational concerns. Yet many EMs & TLs receive no training, or generic business courses. Their own leaders are busy, and struggle to get the time to teach, coach and mentor them.

When?

The next off-site north London training class is held on 26th & 27th of March 2024. Contact us for further onsite and offsite courses.

How?

Anomalous Training provides on and offsite in-person training for groups no larger than eight attendees. Over 2 days we focus on five pillars of software engineering team leadership: onboarding, performing, leaving, strategic and operational areas. Travelling through the lifecycle of a developer within a team, we explore how to create an effective, safe and fertile environment for great software engineering. Each topic is discussed in detail, after which the attendees can workshop through their challenges and experiences, learning from each other too. At the end of the first day, everyone is invited to dine together to keep the conversations going in a relaxed environment. At the end of the course, they benefit from an invitation-only online communication channel, including one for their own cohort.

Off-site training is either in north London or in central London.
